Swim Lessons

Alison started her first independent swim lessons Saturday. I squeezed her into the 3-5 year old class-she looks like she's 3, right? When I registered her late and got the exception to let her in the class, they told me the class was full. Oddly enough, the only other kid in her class is her best pal, Nico. The kids did an awesome job and I had a great time chatting with Alicia. I was completely confused where the rest of the kids were though. This happened at the Parent/Child lessons we took. I just don't get why you would pay for lessons and then never show up. Anyway, I was shocked at how well Alison did. A few months ago, she would barely let go of me and Saturday she was jumping in like it was nothing. I guess it shows that positive peer pressure can be a good thing!

I couldn't have made it through the week without these amazing women! I was definitely spoiled by all of their help.
Eliot started sucking his hand this week. He's really in search for his thumb, but the coordination just isn't there so his whole hand ends up in his mouth.
Alison was perhaps more spoiled than I was this last week. We went to the zoo and Mimi and the aunts took her to see Toy Story 3. Her favorite part of the week was spent in the pool with Mimi eating watermelon.

The sweetest things

Eliot can be one stinky little guy. Between the constant gas and spitting up, he's usually in need of a good cleaning. Fortunately for us the cats have taken it upon themselves to help us out in this department.

Mimi, Aunt Cierra, Aunt Kaitlyn and Aunt Madisyn are visiting this week while Ben's in Florida again for school. They have been beyond helpful and a HUGE blessing to me. Yesterday Aunt Cierra spent the whole afternoon with Alison playing whatever silly game she made up. She was a big green monster for part of the time and then turned into a puppy named Smikey.

Happy Father's Day!

You're lookin' at the best daddy around. There's no other daddy I know that loves his little princess like this daddy does. I'm excited to see the relationship that develops between Ben and Eliot. Right now Eliot's life is just about eating and sleeping, but soon this awesome daddy will have his hands full wrestling and playing trucks (or whatever boys do, I sure don't know).

Happy father's day, Ben. Our kids are immensely blessed to have you as their daddy. We love you!

Happy 2 months!

Eliot is now 10 lbs 12 oz and 23 inches long. He started cooing and smiling some, but I'd like a whole lot more. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks he'll really come out of his shell. He's still a great baby and we're really enjoying every moment with him.

Our week with the Chang's

We had a great week with my sister and nieces. Everyday was an adventure with four kids under the age of 3. We went to Bluebird Gap Farm one morning and then ate at Chick-fil-A for lunch. We were always quite a site with our onterage.

We spent a lot of time out on our deck. Katherine and Alison played in the pool while the babies hung out in the shade.
We attempted a day at the beach, but after a nursing 2 cranky babies in a tent that was blowing over we ended up just picking up some smoothies and heading home. Katherine and Alison enjoyed the few minutes there soakin' up some sun (which defeated the whole purpose of taking the tent, but we're not going to think about that). There were lots of photo sessions throughout the week. Of course we had to get everyone in their KU attire.

and their sibling shirts
