Surprise!!!

Surprise might be an understatement. You see, the day I was supposed to be getting long term birth control, I found out that God had given us an unexpected blessing. It makes absolutely no sense that a baby #3 is on it's way...in fact, the doctor's laughed for a good minute about our little "situation". I wish I could say that this surprise was welcomed with joyful excitement, but truthfully, it's been a hard journey thus far. I'll share more about that later, but for now here are some pictures...

The day we found out:

Ironically, I'm wearing the same outfit I was wearing when I found out I was pregnant with Eli...I don't think I'll be wearing that outfit ever again.

Don't mean to brag...

But I'm sitting in shorts and a t-shirt with all my windows open. The weather is beautiful and we're soaking it up.

Our yard is full of leaves, so we spent the afternoon sliding and jumping in them.

Grandma's Visit

We enjoyed a laid back few days with Grandma. We did some shopping and went out to lunch, but most of all, we just enjoyed some time playing at home.

Happy Halloween!

Cinderella and her puppy went downtown to trick-or-treat.
It's a perfect situation for our family. The kids have fun dressing up, they get to see a lot of their friends there, there's no scary, bloody/gory stuff around and they only get a few pieces of candy.

Alison was super excited to "go to Halloween". Okay, she was slightly confused about the whole day, but she was excited about the sugar! Eli gave her a run for her money. He would prance up with her, hold out his basket and say "thank you!". And who can resist giving extra candy to a cute puppy who says 'thank you'?

Hope's Harvest Day

We had our first ever Hope Harvest Day on Sunday. We had a fun afternoon of family games (field size twister, sack races, 3 legged races and egg tosses), crafts for the kids and a chili cook-off.

Ben's chili won 2nd place!

The kids just loved playing in the yard, and I loved the caramel apples! We went on a hayride through the farm and as you can see by Eli's hand in the picture, had some yummy dessert too.

It was a perfect way to spend a crisp, Fall day.
