We were excited to have Grandpa come visit this week. We showed him the highlights of Smithfield and Alison enjoyed lots of airplane rides.

One of Alison's favorite things these days is to climb into Ben's lap while he's holding Eli and say, "Now you have ALL your kids". She's pretty cute and Ben always assures her that she will always be his little princess.


Meaghan brought us this cake a couple of days ago. She babysits Alison and is in youth group at Hope. It was sweet to have her visit us, but Alison was anxious for her to leave so we could eat the yummy cake staring her in the face. While Meaghan was here we were talking about fondant and how people usually don't eat, they just take it off before eating the cake. Ben and I attempted to make it once and it was not very yummy to eat-we were pretty disappointed especially after all the work it takes to make. Oddly enough, the fondant was the only part of the cake Alison wanted to eat. She wouldn't even touch the actual part of the cake-which was absolutely delicious! She said, "I want to eat the stars and the moon and baby Jesus!"
