This is a pretty classic picture of reading with Colin. We are 2 words into the lesson and he's being goofy and even laughing that I'm trying to get him to read a paragraph and I'm trying everything I can think of to motivate him through the page, even if it means a chocolate chip for every word sounded out.
But I know these painful "deposits" into his literacy account are worth it. It will click one day. There will be a day that he withdraws all these deposits and becomes a fantastic reader.
When I need encouragement for Colin, I will look at this picture; the day it really clicked for Eli and he stayed up REALLY late to finish his chapter book.
